Everything you need to know
Teapot Island is a family-run business that was established in Yalding in April 2003. A two-time Guinness World Records winner, we're home to the biggest collection of teapots in England, with over 8,500 teapots - and forever expanding - on display in our exhibition that is open to the public for a small charge, 7 days a week!
In 2004 we purchased our 3 metre tall Wishing Well teapot and cup from Germany, that stands proudly at our entrance. This is used to raise funds for Kent Air Ambulance, something we take great pride in continuing.
There has been a café on this site since the 1950s. It started its life as a tin shack serving tea and selling bait to the fisherman. It has changed a lot since then, and we now boast a bistro style café, with a wide variety of different types of food on our menu and a big selection of ice creams for you to enjoy. We are well known for our cream teas and scones, which are baked on the premises daily, including real Cornish clotted cream, our own homemade jam and not forgetting, of course, a pot of tea. We are also fully licensed and stock a vast array of alcoholic beverages.
We consider ourselves lucky to be situated alongside the river Medway where you can enjoy walking along its banks to watch the wildlife at play or just sit outside in our tranquil garden and watch the world go by. Whatever your preference, every visit to Teapot Island is a special one.
We have been visited by various different celebrities over the years, seen on TV and even visited by the King and Queen.
